Weaksauce.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Life and what not. You know how it goes. Here's what I would like to briefly go over though today. Consider:

27
31
30
24
25
27
31
38
26
25
23
14
20

What do these numbers mean? This has been my weekly mileage since sometime in late September. The 'why' is unimportant (I know why - and it's not really related to a running injury). I just need to kick things in gear and get it going again. Especially with insane pacing duties beckoning in Hawaii in a few weeks and another 50-mile race looming in February.

Will I be able to "cram" for these runs? We shall see. I fully realize I gotta start logging some serious mileage stat. There are some exciting things brewing in other aspects of my life that will probably be time-consuming as well but it's just a matter of prioritizing and at some point, I need to pound it into my thick noggin that you can't fake your way through certain distances/elevations.

So with that said...here's to a new year. And here's to (hopefully) getting my shit together!

I think your mileage is good in my eyes...but I can see why you need to get more miles in. Happy new year, dude.

mine hasn't looked much better than that, but then again i'm not aiming for a 50-mi in feb. or the HURT.

that 14 was just a cutback week, right? yeah go with it.

good luck getting your act together, stranger.

My motivation and mileage was lacking there for awhile, but now I have my butt in gear and have been getting back up there! Hope you have a great new year!

That mileage really sucks.

Now is the time to set yourself up nicely for next year. Start running doubles ASAP!

Well at least you are rested but not out of shape for the New Year. If fitness is going to be a lifetime pursuit it's okay to have a few months where you are just maintaining, not necessarily training for something big or racing. My .02 cents anyway. Here's to 2011.

Ok weaksauce its awesomesauce(easy on stealing my sauce word) I am with Evan. Duuuuuude stop bitching and start running! Get off the friggin treadmill~last I checked those along with indoor trainers were made for prisons. Next try and get off the pavement it wreaks havic on your poor knees, hips, and joints. You are surrounded by miles and miles of trails, and have tons of amazing friends you can run with. 25 of us ran will rogers on sunday(coyotes, rats,la frontrunners) and you totally could have joined us! I have tons of Leona training runs planned which are supported, and the coyotes run every weekend all super fun runs. Hook up with jimmy he would love it! If you don't like something about your life change it~for you that sounds like running. So yes run Billy run, but don't jump to quickly into those doubles! Power hike and combo with a second run when you start out, then start banging out some doubles. Good luck at Hurt pacing hopefully your runner does well! :o)

It seems like some pretty solid running to me. It’s not all about the miles. You could run a 50K tomorrow without any notice/preparation – not a lot of people out there can say that. Run on!

LIfe just IS, Billy. Running a little or a lot is better than not running at all. Tough to fake your way through a 50 miler. Get back on the horse ASAP and have a great 2011.
