Race Report: Santa Monica Mountains (as a Volunteer)

Ok, so it's not much of a race report. In fact, we were all so consumed with our volunteer duties (and yes, some actual food consumption as well) that I didn't really see most of the winners coming in. What I do know is that anytime you either race or volunteer at a PCTR event, it's always good times. Special shout-out to Sarah (the RD), Stuart, Evan, Lori and of course, Sara for making it a great day under the sun.

I now leave you with some photos. Can't wait to run the trails myself!

Lori and Sarah at the start

The 30/50K-ers taking off

Sara taking care of t-shirt duty

Evan and Kim (and their son Tim) at the 30/50K aid station

Stuart on the knives

Kim with some words of encouragement for Lori

Overall winner of the 50K, Dominic Grossman coming across the line at 4:3X:XX

Gun-to-the-Head winner of the day, Lori

The crew. Good times.

Thanks so much for being out there, Burger....I'm so glad I was able to hang out with you guys for a few hours.

I'll see you (hopefully) in March -- and this time, I'll probably be the one volunteering while you, Sara, Evan, Stuart, et al are the ones tearing up the course...

Thanks again! It was great seeing you at Point Moo-goo. Cereal.

Hey Billy, long time no comment. I got so far behind in bloglines I was afraid to try to catch up, 54 unread posts is daunting, sorry.

Super bummed to read about your foot. I'm excited about the new LA Marathon too. I may actually run this one after a 5 year hiatus from my home town event.

Also bummed that I missed the Born to Run book event. I'd have been there. That's what I get for not keeping up with the blogs. Take care.

Cool seeing a PCTR event staffed by a whole different set of people. Different runners, different volunteers same cool vibe.
