Race Report: 2009 Long Beach Marathon/Half-Marathon

Ok, so I didn't run it this year (for obvious reasons). But boy, did I spectate and cheer my little heart out.

Equipped with my mountain bike, knapsack, iPhone and a cowbell, I jammed through the course, provided some race fuel for Danica and my cousin here and there, and just had a blast meeting up with, cheering and taking some pics of my friends and family running the race.

Speaking of pics, here is a sampling. Great racing day, overcast throughout, 60's...perfect.

All smiles for our gal Danica, finishing sub-4 in only her 2nd marathon!

This pic of Danica and I cracks me up!

Great job everyone. God willing, see you all next year!

Hey! Thanks for cheering everyone on! I saw you out there, but since I haven't met you in person before, you may have been confused about the girl who yelled "Burger!" at around the 8/9 mile? Lol.

way to go, cheerleader. it's already tough enough to read/hear about running when you're benched! looks like a fun time though and i know all your friends were glad you were there.

man it was nice to have the unexpected cheering especially since I was kind of hurting from the very first step. Can't wait until you make your comeback!
