Races I'd like to run before I "kick the bucket":
1) Western States 100
2) Boston Marathon
3) Flora London Marathon
4) Berlin Marathon
5) NYC Marathon
6) Chicago Marathon
7) Mount Diablo - 50 Miler
8) Comrades Marathon
9) Big Sur Marathon
10) Avenue of the Giants
A rather banal list, I know - especially since it covers all the majors. I'm sure I'm missing something here...got any suggestions that can bump some of the aforementioned races from the list?

Dude! Western States! Bad ass. #9 is a must do...that's prob the only one I'll ever do from your list! MAYBE NYC...but who knows. Go for it B. What's first?
hmmm I think NYC too! :) You'll get to all of those! Which one you starting with? :) Can't wait to see the journey!
The Great Wall?
@ Shack - nope. Would entail more hiking than anything I think.
2, 3, 5 and 6 are all on mine too :)
malibu.
lol, i think my bucket list is like 4x this length. but i also have some shorter races on there.
my list includes the Kilimanjaro Marathon, JFK 50 miler, maybe Pikes Peak Marathon (if i'd like more scars from falling down), ... and some others.
Chicago is great. i'd definitely do it again just to be able to visit the city.
Great list. Are these in any particular order? If you had to choose a race to run, would you rather run Boston or the Western States 100?
NYC ROCKS!!! I've done it and had a blast!
You have a great list. I heard Philly is a good one too.
Bataan Marathon (3/30) in NM & Jay Challenge (http://www.ultimatexc.com)
and yes....the Great Wall Marathon- asian roots man! ;)
You forgot:
Honolulu and Tokyo!
CATALINA!!!! a must for sure.
I could have sworn I left a comment yesterday?
Marathon des Sables
Hardrock 100
Barkley - ha no chance of ever finishing this one!
i'm voting for hawaii and/or anywhere in the caribbean. i'm partial to the tropics though. i need to make one of these lists...
i have a thing against chicago but that's because they canceled it the year i ran, and it was stinkin' hot. i guess i need to go back with a vengeance!
Marine Corps might be on your list too - quite challenging (esp. the 14th Street Bridge or whatever or it is called). Ending at the Iwo Jima Museum is amazing though. Another good one is Grandmas, just listening to all those Minne-sooh-ta accents is worth the price of admission.
Some of these are, stratch that, all of these are freakin' hardcore! You are a machine.
(P.S. Thanks for your comment on my whiny post. It is really inspiring for me to hear of runners who I consider very speedy, tell me they weren't always so speedy. It gives me hope that maybe someday I'll get faster.)
I'll do ave of the Giants with you... I being Jes Biggity Bohn.
Wow. That's an awesome list.
