Malibu International Marathon

Holy crap...I just heard about the inaugural Malibu International Marathon to take place on November 15th. It's a point-to-point, starting in Camarillo and ending near Zuma Beach. How can I not run this??

Only problem is, it would throw off exacting revenge and training for CIM on December 6th. Worth it? Stay tuned...but I am very excited about this race.

ummmm you could do both. take mim slower, treat it like a 20-mile training run? 'cept of course it's a tad bit longer than that. kinda fits in well for one last long training run.... ;)

man, the temptation! I'll most likely be flat broke after the NYC marathon! I'll run it if Ryan is in. :D

Hey Billy:

Thanks for the info about Malibu. Southern California, as you know, can never have enough marathons. I definitely think you can run it as a last long run for CIM and then power your way to a PR on the latter course! Glad to hear you're all recovered from the Skyline drama!

Wow this would be gorgeous! Is it trails?

@ Alisa - from the sounds of it, it's a strictly road marathon.

@ Ric + Lindsay - you two totally read my mind..

@ Chic Runner - haha..

Elevation profile looks flat from what I can gather. Not that it matters, but my vote would be for you to really bury yourself in CIM training. With the right training you are ripe for a massive marathon PR.

You could treat this as a long training run for CIM?

NO WAY!!!

If I don't get into NYC, I'm totally doing this race!

Where have I been? How come I hadn't heard of this????

Looks like MIM's has a new website up. It has much more information than before http://www.malibutintmarathon.com The elevation map is still missing but they claim that it is a flat course.
