Video: My First Ultra - Malibu Creek 50K

It's been 2 agonizing days of hobbling around and not being able to run (not to mention falling off my schedule a bit). But I don't really care - it was definitely worth it. And I must be suffering from "runner's amnesia" (as a friend put it), because I'm already looking at another 50K next month (seriously...somebody smack some sense into me).

Anyway, I'll get the Pfitz program restarted tomorrow and right this ship again. In the meantime, I leave you with this little video I put together of Sunday's trail race. Enjoy:

Holy cow that race looked killer! Between the hills and the stream/river I would have been done after 2 miles =).

@ Alisa - go to:

They put on great races - just ask anyone who has ever run one of their events. I'm eye-balling 'Skyline to the Sea - 50K' next on 4/26 in San Jose.

Yay, great video! It really showed the elevation there, crazy! Congrats again on completing such a hardcore challenge!

P.S. perfect song choice, btw.

Awesome video. Such a beautiful course!

I know we all say "Never again" in marathons and distances beyond... but you actually have it on video!! That's hilarious. You'll have to include that in the beginning of the video for your next one. :)

Great race report in your previous post. I found your blog through chic runner. I start my training plan on Monday for what I hope is a 50 mile race...hope meaning I don't die during it!

great video! the course/route looks like a good run, maybe not so much for 2 loops though! we all know this was not your only one, you don't have to hide it. there's something about the pain that makes you want to come back for more!

And you make it so easy for me to make fun of you. Can't wait til Sycamore Canyon where I will ambush you with a flurry of "yuks"...

Dude it looks easy in the vid :P I dig your vid reports. Very cool, my friend. Was this the first time you and Mr Q (Stuart) met up?!

Runner's Amnesia, heh. I think you could apply this same science to having kids. Because otherwise why the heck would ANYONE have more than 1? :P

@ Marcy - I assure ya lass, it was anything BUT.

And I've known Stuart for almost a year now when he came out to run with me and the Trail Runners Club. Stand up fellow and a heck of an ultrarunner.
