Long Run Sunday: A Tour of West LA

7am - about to get started

Running over the 405 overpass right near my place heading west

~mile 2 - running through the Santa Monica Airport

~mile 3 - dirt path next to a local golf course

The famous Main St, running north and south about a block and a half away from the beach

At approximately mile 4.5, we once again hit the relatively empty Venice Boardwalk

The Santa Monica Pier

The sign for the pier itself

~mile 6.25 - the runner's mecca knows as Palisades Park

~mile 10 - the very affluent neighborhood of Brentwood

Southbound on Barrington Ave, about a mile away from home

Covered 17.05 miles for the day. Kind of bonked from miles 14 and on but was happy that I was mentally able to push myself through it and finish. Have a good day folks.

I always enjoy your pictures! Great job on the run. Who takes the ones of you?

@ D10 - thanks! And to answer your question, I leave you with two words coined by my buddy Emil: Peter. Parker.

Dude, 17 miles following a 50k is unreal. You must feel great about that turnaround. How is your ankle holding up?

I like the 2nd picture the best.

COOL! I go to a big AA Meeting near Barrington on Wednesdays when I'm down there...a big synagogue. Biggest meeting in the world right in your back yard.

Great job!! Your pictures make me miss LA so much! :)

Speaking of which, I'm there this weekend and need to get 15 in. My fam is in the SFValley and I hate running there. Can I get in 15 along the beach? Can I start in Santa Monica or should I start further north? HELP! (I didn't get into running until I'd already moved to the Bay Area, can you tell?)

another great run friend. love the pics, still jealous that you live and run in such picturesque areas. i suppose i'll let it slide that you wear ear warmers when it's in the 40's :)
