This will be my consolation prize. Since it's about 3 weeks out from San Diego, if any of you guys doing the marathon are looking for a tune-up race, this will be perfect!

But hurry - it's about 60% full as of this morning!

Got in 6 miles this morning with 2 miles at goal marathon pace (target 8:09 - 8:29). Heartrate's still disturbingly high.
Ended up averaging 7:53 or so because my old, antiquated Garmin Forerunner 301 is a piece of crap and keeps thinking I'm either running 6 or 10 minutes miles pace at any given point.
Time for an upgrade? Hellz yeah.

i want to do that race SOOOO bad but its 6 days after eugene :( my parents live really close to there and all my friends from high school are doing it AND i have or will be doing the other 2 wine country halves....*sigh*
sounds like its time for an upgrade! i think you can get the 305 online from costco pretty cheap (comparably).
Oooooooo are you going to go 305 or go all out and go 405?!
I LOVE the wine country! Too bad it's so far away now. My hubby and I did a wine country half in October in Nor Cal...loved it! I PR'D (even with the hills) =).
I have G205...would love the 405 but sadly no extra savings for it. =(...maybe someday!
@ Marcy - the 305. Daddy can't afford to splurge on the 405 yet what with all these races I'm signed up for..
(whether I'm running them or not!)
I'll have to look into this one..I need to get my schedule for SD laid out so I know what the heck I am doing for the next 3 months! lol
you'll love the 305 :)
glad you found a consolation prize/race. i can't bring myself to splurge on any garmin (nor ask for it as a gift). i am starting to get a little envious of everyone else knowing their pace the whole time they are running though...
Send a message to my friend Emily (she writes If You Can't Beat Them) because she gets discounts on Garmin products!!!!
You'll enjoy that race I did it two years ago and had a blast, it's pretty fast as well even with the big FO hill in the middle!
PS 305's Costco $150! DO IT NOW!
I want to do SB...do they give out wine???
@ Maritza - introduce a brotha to your friend!
@ SB Girl - I believe there was an option for a glass and tasting afterwards (I wanna say it was $15). I opted out but it's there at registration.
I heard that was one of the most beautiful routes ever. I haven't done it myself but a few people have told me that.
Aw, I'm sorry again about San Diego.
