I'm out for the Palos Verdes Half Marathon.
As much as I was looking forward to toeing the line with some of my other running friends and Runner's World forumites, the weather has just been too brutally hot to justify running it. Then I thought this could be the perfect opportunity to finally volunteer at a race (something I've always wanted to do) and cheer on the people I know, but never heard an e-mail reply back from the race organizers.
I gave myself the entire day off and will spend the day with some of my close friends rock-climbing and laying out at our favorite beach spot up north. I'll probably get a shoreline run in too at some point.
I'm also looking at a 10K in Brentwood next Sunday as my final tune-up race.
Best of luck to the brave souls who will be running tomorrow/this morning in the intense Southern California heat. Hope it goes well!
