Birthday Ride

Well, it's here. Another year older.

Hopefully with age came wisdom.

I don't know how 'wise' this idea is, but to mark the occasion - with a RARE day off from work - I'm planning a 50+ mile bike ride to visit my father (to and from Whittier). I haven't visited his burial site since New Years Day which was my last day off so I've been feeling like a bad son lately.

It's not quite as hot as yesterday when temps were nearing 100 degrees, but it'll still be very warm, probably in the mid-80's. I'll also be passing through some areas of LA that I'm unaccustomed to. But where would be the sense of adventure in just sticking to areas of comfort?

With that, I'm going to pack up my Camelbak with water and sunblock now and will be off on my birthday ride shortly. Have a good day everyone!
